Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-08-29

Short version: most tools on this site process your images entirely in your browser -- those images are never uploaded, stored, or shared. A small set of tools are labeled AI-powered and send your image to a third-party AI provider for processing (see §1b). This policy tells you exactly what data we do (and don't) collect.

1. The "no upload" promise

Every client-side tool on this site -- compression, resizing, cropping, conversion, metadata removal, collage, PDF, and all the rest -- runs client-side in your browser using the Canvas API. When you drop a file:

  • The file is read into your device's memory.
  • It is processed by JavaScript running in your browser tab.
  • The result is downloaded back to your device.

At no point is your image, or any part of it, transmitted to our servers or to any third party. You can verify this yourself: open your browser's developer tools → Network tab, and use any tool. You will see zero requests carrying image data.

1b. AI features (server-side processing)

A small set of tools are labeled "AI-powered" -- for example upscaling, background replacement, magic eraser, and colorization. These use a third-party AI provider. When you use one of those tools:

  • Your image (or the region you selected) and the settings you chose are sent to the AI provider's servers through our proxy to be processed.
  • We do not store your images or copies of them on our own infrastructure.
  • The AI provider processes the image to produce your result and returns it to you. That provider's own privacy policy governs how it handles the image during processing.
  • Result images are served back to your browser through our own proxy and are not kept on our servers.

AI tools are clearly marked with an ✨ AI-powered badge so you always know whether a tool stays on your device or uses server-side AI.

2. Data we collect

Because our tools are client-side, we have very little data -- by design.

  • Analytics (cookieless). If analytics is enabled on the live site, we use Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics service that uses no cookies and collects no personal data. It only counts page views and events (for example, "compress tool used"). It cannot identify you.
  • Email (only if you opt in). If you subscribe to our free toolkit or newsletter, we receive the email address you entered. We use it only to send what you asked for. You can unsubscribe at any time and we will delete your address on request.
  • Payments. If you buy Pro, payment is processed by our payment provider (currently Lemon Squeezy). We never see or store your card details. The provider sends us your email and purchase status so we can confirm your subscription.

3. Data we do NOT collect

  • We do not upload, store, or log your images.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for their marketing.
  • We do not use advertising trackers by default. If advertising is ever enabled on this site, it loads only after you accept cookies via the consent banner, and your choice is stored only in your own browser.

4. Your rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA)

If you are in the EU/UK/EEA you have the right to access, correct, export, and delete your personal data. If you are in California, the CCPA/CPRA grants you the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of any "sale or sharing" -- which we do not do in the first place.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@croweo.com and we will respond within 30 days.

You may also use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the footer at any time.

5. Cookies

This site sets no essential cookies. Our analytics service is cookieless. A tiny localStorage flag records your consent choice; it never leaves your device. See our Cookie Policy for details.

6. Children

Our tools and site are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Third-party links

Links to third-party sites (including affiliate links) are provided for your convenience. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

8. Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and, where required, notify subscribers by email. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
